Zach’s Camaro 1LE

We all have friends who find their niche in car culture. Some are heavily invested in old school muscle cars, some in lifted trucks, and some in stanced JDM vehicles. Many people do venture out and try new things as they grow, but for some it is just weird to see them in something so different than usual.

Since I have known him, Zach has had some of the most recognizable JDM cars in the scene. From his Static STI to his BRZ on Air, he has been a sort of “Local Celebrity” in the scene (I know he is going to laugh when he reads this but he knows its true) for those who love this style of build. Combine these Instagram worthy builds with his infectious personality, and anytime you get a chance to hangout with Zach it is a great time.

However I was surprised, and excited, to see when Zach picked up a Camaro. After hearing that it was supercharged as well, it was a definite change from previous vehicles. While there are certainly some influences pulled from his prior vehicles, namely coilovers maxed as low as they will go, overall it gives a completely different feeling than any previous car.

The car is a 2014 Camaro 2SS RS 1LE. There is a set of BC Racing coilovers that are just about completely maxed out and some Hero smoked taillights out back. Otherwise the exterior of the car is left most as it came.

The setting sun made for a beautiful backdrop, although I did get a bit of sun flare.

Sitting under the hood is a SLP 2300 Supercharger and a Blackwing intake. A set of  ZL1 53lb/min injectors and Texas Speed Headers round out the underhood modifications. Oh, and a Remy Battery sticker. The car was then tuned by Endless Performance for maximum power while keeping the car reliable.

The interior of the car is stock, albeit a Recaro seating package car. The only, and most important modification, is the tiny Cheesehead that adorns the dash.

Behind the scenes.

As the sun was setting, the last little bit of sun created a fire glow through the trees. This might be some of my favorite photos from the year. A bright white car, flat black hood, and a sky colored like fire made for some incredible images.

Two different compositions of the same scene. Which is your favorite?

And the last image of the day. The light was fading fast, and trying to handhold a 300mm F2.8 lens was becoming difficult. But I will say, it was all worth it. The compression with the shallow depth of field looks fantastic.

Having the opportunity to shoot Zach’s car was fantastic. I absolutely love shooting white cars, and I had no idea that the sky would turn out so perfect. This shoot exceeded all expectations. There will be more coming next year as our V8 crew of Zach, Brandon (Deuster), Stephen, Benjamin, and myself get together and do photo stuff.
