Brad’s Focus ST

The Focus ST is a love-hate vehicle for me. The idea is excellent: a 4 door hatchback with a turbo. An excellent family vehicle that is accessible to all.

But with that comes the crackle tunes, plastidipped wheels, and every single Hoonigan sticker ever released. Don’t get me wrong, I have no issue with how people want to accessorize their vehicles. But there is a fine line between tasteful modifications and slapping stuff on your car.

When Brad reached out to me about shooting his car, I wasn’t sure what to expect with his ST. After getting some details and a quick cell phone photo of the car, I was excited to see a well thought out family cruiser. A simple car with great looks, perfect for a daily cruiser with just a little extra style and go.

The exterior is a nice combo of white on white with a set of Fifteen52 wheels.

This photo below is one of my all time top 5 favorite automotive photos I’ve ever taken. I’ve seen shots similar over the years and had an idea in my head. I finally stumbled across the perfect setup and grabbed this. The rich textures of the wood, the weathered cement, and the fresh blacktop against a white on white car. Everything just aligned perfectly.

I have said it before, but the little details auto manufacturers are including on enthusiast models makes all the difference. The Recaro seats, the ST badging, and overall driver focused driving position makes this a great car. Add in a Cobb accessport for a little extra go, and you’ve got an excellent setup.

The building that we shot in front of had so many different textures and colors, it really added to the photos. Every side of the building had a different look, we were able to shoot in one location and get many different looks.

I had been wanting to shoot a white on white car for a while. The fresh blacktop only helped it pop more. The car is a simple “Build”, but sometimes that’s all you need. I love the wild builds as much as the next person, but that’s just not a reality for most people, and I respect that. At the end of the day, Id rather drive a fun car everyday rather than have a high end build in the garage 90% of the time, and then drive my 2003 Toyota Camry to work. But different strokes for different folks, and that’s what makes this world so enjoyable.
